22 Years of Ministry!

It’s your anniversary! Well, it’s our anniversary, actually. 22 years of ministry have been happening at UTMC and we’re praising God for his grace poured out on this church for all those years.

It’s exciting to be part of a church that’s only celebrating 22 years of ministry, because it means God is still doing new things 2000 years later. There are churches in the world celebrating well over 1000 years of ministry. There are nearby churches celebrating 200 years, and here in Mitchell 22 years ago God decided to do something new!

Questions to Ponder:

  1. How have you observed God’s faithfulness in your life recently?

  2. Think further back, when did you recognize God’s faithfulness in a significant way 10, 20 or more years ago?

  3. In Psalm 119 “laws,” “commands,” and “decrees” are just some of the words used to describe the Bible - why is it important that we remember that the Bible does include “rules” for living? What other writings are in the Bible besides “laws”?

  4. Paul is a spiritual father. Sometimes we think “father” and “mother” are religious words used by catholics, but we cannot forget we are called to be fathers and mothers to others. Who was a spiritual father or mother to you? Do you need one? Who might it be?

  5. Who needs you to be a spiritual father or mother to them? What will you do right now to start? (hint: pray!)

  6. What area of your life needs to be cultivated most? Scrupture study? Prayer habits? Intentional disciple-making? Why do you choose that area?

  7. Spend time praying by yourself or woith others for God’s Kingdom to come here and now.

The Theme in Song:

Hopefully this song is familiar to many of you. It became our anthem in our last season of transtion from Pastor Ralph as lead pastor to myself, and now as we enter a new fall, with another pastorer transtion from Pastor Brian to a yet unknown future, we declare that God is faithful in it all, and our trust is in him! Lord, you are in charge! Lord, give us wisdom. Lord, we love you! Thank you for loving us.
