Ephesians Part 13

Have you ever heard the phrase “imitation is the greatest form of flattery” in our passage this week, we will see the first command that Paul gives us is to imitate God, how can we do this though as fallen creatures. First off we never do this alone, as Nate talked about last week, we have the Holy Spirit. Second we can do this because we are children of God, adopted into his family, we should be imitators of out heavenly father. Paul then gives us two way to do this, walking in love and walking in Light.

  1. Is there someone in your life who you have tried to imitate? It could be a parent, mentor, ETC.

  2. What do you think is the hardest characteristic to imitate of God?

  3. Practically what do you think walking in Love and walking in Light looks like?

  4. When you read verse 2, there is a reference to sacrifice and aroma, what do you think Paul is leading us back to?

  5. How can we show true thanksgiving to God in out everyday lives?

  6. As Christians we can be known for what we are against, Paul makes it very clear the things we are not to be involved in. How do we show grace to those who practice these things, how do we reach people with this message while ourselves not falling into temptation?
