Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day!

To all of you who are moms, we love you, we need you, and your hard work is so deeply appreciated!

To you who aren’t moms, we have a lot to be thankful for. For our mothers, grandmothers, or mother figures in our lives who have helps us and poured into us over the years.

“Mother and Child” by R S Yarn

There is no shortage of beautiful paintings depicting mothers and children - probably because this is the most tangible and sacred of all human connections. There is nothing like the union between mother and child.

Anchor Passages:

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 EASY - EASY Is a bible translation written especially for people with limited reading abilities or who are new to English. As you will see, it gets the message across simply and clearly.

Questions to Ponder:

  1. What does verse 9 show us about God’s response to our weakness? Why do you think we get the idea that God wants to solve our problems right away?

  2. What is “Christ’s Power” in v. 9? What does it do for us?

  3. Based on these two verses, how would you instruct someone in a difficult situation to pray?

  4. Think of a time you saw your mother weak in her own abilities (or you have been weak, if you are a mom) only to have God show up in a powerful way to strengthen her (you). Can you share this story of God’s faithfulness with someone else?

  5. Is there a part of your life you’re relying on your own strength for, rather than God’s? Pray and ask yourself “What’s a step of faith you can make today?” If possible - share this with someone who can check in with you about it later.
